About Us
MHFA @ UCO is a project aimed to improve the mental wellbeing of students at the University of Central Oklahoma through Mental Health First Aid and QPR trainings. By training faculty, staff, and fellow students in the MHFA and QPR curriculums, we aim to foster a supportive environment for anyone on campus experiencing a mental health/substance use challenge and help them find a pathway to wellbeing. MHFA trainings focus on increasing awareness and literacy around mental health, and assisting in early, worsening, and crisis situations including suicide and overdose. QPR focuses primarily on suicide prevention.
This program is operated by Mental Health First Aid Oklahoma, a DCCCA prevention program, in partnership with the UCO Center for Counseling & Wellbeing, and is funded in part by SAMHSA.
